Flooring Installation in Vallejo, CA
Vinyl plank and tile laid over a flat, solid, dry subfloor.
What to know about flooring installation
Floors take more wear than any other surface, so the installation has to start with the subfloor. A flat, dry and solid base makes the difference between a floor that lasts and one that squeaks, lifts or telegraphs every bump.
We install vinyl plank, patterned and slate-look tile and other floors. Our photos include a dark wood-look vinyl plank in a freshly painted room and bold cement-pattern tile in a bathroom. Each material has its own prep: vinyl needs a smooth, dry surface, while tile needs a rigid, flat one.
Floors are also the end of a remodel's sequence, which makes them a good place to be careful. We install after drywall and painting, but before the final trim, so the base and thresholds sit neatly on top.
Doorways and transitions are where a floor looks professional or rushed. When one room's floor meets another at a different height, a proper transition strip or a leveled subfloor makes the change look intentional. We also leave the expansion gaps that vinyl and similar floors need around the perimeter, then cover them with baseboard and shoe molding so they disappear.

Signs a floor needs replacing
- Planks that are lifting, buckling or separating.
- Cracked tile or hollow spots under tile.
- Stains and odors in carpet that never clean out.
- Squeaks and soft spots that point to subfloor problems.
- A change in rooms or finish that calls for matching floors.

What affects the cost of flooring installation
Flooring pricing depends on material and prep. The main factors:
Material
Vinyl plank, tile, laminate and hardwood each cost differently to buy and to install.
Subfloor repair and leveling
Rough or uneven floors need work before new flooring can go down.
Removal of old flooring
Taking out carpet, tile or glued floors adds labor.
Room shape and transitions
Rooms with many corners, doorways and thresholds take longer.
Why choose E&MC Remodeling for flooring installation
We treat flooring as part of the room, not an afterthought. We plan how it meets the door, the wall and the next room so the finished floor looks like it was always there.

Flooring Installation FAQs
What flooring do you install?
We install vinyl plank and tile, and we will talk through other options based on your room and budget.
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes. It depends on the material and condition. We will tell you if removal is the better route.
How long does installation take?
Most rooms take a few days, including preparation. Tile takes longer because it needs time to cure.
Do you move furniture?
We can, but it is easier if you empty the room. We tell you what to expect when we quote.
Will you handle baseboards and thresholds?
Yes. Trim and transitions are part of a finished floor installation.
